Lake Charles, LA —

On August 4th, at the the Alliance for Positive Growth SWLA Awards Banquet, Alfred Miller Contracting won 1st place for Best Industrial Project.  The award recognized our design and construction of a 100,000 square foot Blast-Rated building made entirely of precast for Cameron LNG. The building housed three major functions—Control Room & Offices, Maintenance Shop & Offices, & Warehouse—in one single building.

For the nearly three year duration of the project, Alfred Miller Contracting directly employed over 100 local area personnel both at our Precast Facility in Lake Charles and at the Construction Site in Hackberry, LA. The building’s structural shell was a Total Precast Concrete solution.  It incorporated 654 prefabricated pieces, done right at our Precast Facility in Lake Charles, and shipped to the jobsite for final assembly.

Louisiana Governor, John Bel Edwards, remarked, “The leaders in this area, both past and present, have appreciated the natural geography of this region and harnessed the strength to cultivate a very strong economy”. Read more about the inaugural awards banquet here.
